The first co-creation event of the ULTIMO project, “Imaginons le transport public du futur !”, took place during the Open Innovation Festival, on March 24, 2023 at the “Espace 3DD” in Geneva. It was organized in the format of a futures workshop, inviting the public to imagine the public transport of the future in Geneva. During the event, participants discussed their mobility needs and wants, with the overarching prompt of “if everyone were to use public transport in the future, what services would need to be provided?”
During the first brainstorming session, participants were encouraged identify the situations for which people are unable to use public transport. During the second part of the event, the deliberation phase, participants came up with solutions to the issues identified.
The results of the ideation workshop served as a basis for the challenges of the second event, the hackathon. The over 50 submissions from the workshop were grouped into a total of 7 categories, resulting in five challenges: Environment and infrastructure; multimodality and comfort; pricing; security, safety and information; and user experience and accessibility.
